Ballina Headlands Leisure Park review

Ballina Headlands Leisure Park

We had a lovely time at Ballina. Here is the run-down on the excellent caravan park that we stayed in — the Ballina Headlands Leisure Park: Sites large sites for vans and tents fresh driveways and concrete slabs for vans TV cables next to van sites inside of cabins looked excellent — think the ones that I saw inside must have been recently refurbished. Service people were extremely helpful. Facilities good kiddies playground largemore »

Lennox Head — photos of local tourist attractions

Lennox Head is a pleasant coastal town in Northern New South Wales. Following are a few photos of the area, including the headland, Seven Mile Beach, Lake Ainsworth and the local markets. We stayed at Lake Ainsworth Holiday Park (my review here) while at Lennox Head. Lennox Head Lennox Head has a walkway to a viewing area at the top of the headland. From the car park, you cross a grassed hang gliding launch and landingmore »

Lake Ainsworth Holiday Park at Lennox Head camping review

We recently spent an enjoyable four days camping at Lake Ainsworth Holiday Park at Lennox Head in Northern New South Wales. The park featured a new amenities block, friendly staff and a great location next to Lake Ainsworth and Seven Mile Beach. The Lake Ainsworth Holiday Park is a Big 4 Holiday Park, as well as being a North Coast Holiday Park. The holiday park is large and features unpowered tent sites, powered tent sites, poweredmore »

BlackWolf Turbo Plus 240 — 2012/13 model

The BlackWolf Turbo Plus 240 2012/13 model has a new, larger awning that can be fitted with optional front and side panels. The awning provides a useful space to shelter from the weather — sun, rain, and with the optional panels fitted, wind. The new tent still has BlackWolf’s high quality and robust performance in bad weather. I am a big fan of BlackWolf tents, so I was pleased to be offered the opportunitymore »

Pottsville North Holiday Park camping trip — review and photos

We recently spent a couple of very enjoyable nights at the Pottsville North Holiday Park. This is a great family spot to stay with a swimming pool and children’s play equipment, but look elsewhere if you want an absolute beach front camp site. We chose the Pottsville North Holiday Park over the Pottsville South Holiday Park because the park has children’s play equipment and a pool. The Pottsville South Holiday Park should still be considered ifmore »

Driving Lake Jindabyne to Brisbane

I had been summonsed home. I figured I had had a pretty good time on my Tasmania road trip (follow tag here), so left my overnight stop at Lake Jindabyne intent on getting as far north as possible that day. Once again, rather than detailed planning, I just headed north, following the signs towards Queensland. As I was trying to get home quickly, I did not stop for the customary photographs of everymore »

Driving Wangaratta to Lake Jindabyne, via the Victorian High Country — photos

The Victorian High Country is legendary in four wheel driving circles. I had never been anywhere near the area, apart from a quick trip to Perisher once in the middle of summer. Today was my birthday, and I was going to enjoy it driving through some amazing scenery. After two weeks holidaying in Tasmania with my family, I was headed for home — more than 2,500 kilometres away! My family flew home from Hobart, and Imore »
