Attaching surgical tubing to slingshot posts

I recently purchased a folding slingshot (or sling shot, however you want to spell it) from Wholesale items from China on eBay. Yes, I know. The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. When I was young we made shanghais. They were made out of a fork of a tree with a piece of shock cord and a vinyl pouch. While looking for something else on eBay one day Imore »

Aussie Battery fails to deliver

I have bought a few things from eBay, apparently safe that my purchases were protected by PayPal. On 7 January 2009 I bought a battery charger for $14.40 (+$10 postage) on eBay from AUSSIE_BATTERY INC. I paid for the purchase immediately through PayPal. Aussie Battery states that items are generally shipped out the next business day by Australia Post eParcel, that is, registered post with a tracking number. The tracking number was onlymore »

Update on our Subaru Forester

The 100,000 km service of our Subaru Forester by City Automotive Group that turned into a ridiculously expensive $3,337 exercise is some time ago now. A quick update is in order. My wife has finally got around to trading this car in. It is just over six years old and has only done 84,000 km. She has been looking at a Mercedes Benz. But she is not really a car person and is having difficulty justifyingmore »

Eagle Boys pizza censorship

Eagle Boys has been reported in the media today as having placed videos on YouTube indicating that Dominos large pizzas are smaller than those of Eagle Boys. One of the videos also implies that the Dominos delivery driver’s penises are small. Firstly, Dominos pizzas taste much better than Eagle Boys. Secondly, I know that I am buying a pizza large enough for my wife and I when I buy a Dominos pizza. Quality overmore »

eBay: To buy or not to buy? That is the question.

Don’t you just love all the bargains that you can buy on eBay? … or is that, hate all the overpriced rubbish on eBay? I guess caveat emptor — let the buyer beware — applies. I got burnt when I bought a one cent KiteOL Speed Foil KM5009 kite (check out the last review) off eBay. I guess you could ask, ‘What did I expect from a one cent kite?’ But I also paid $19more »

Don’t buy a Subaru Forester

Subaru Foresters can be expensive to maintain. I knew that when we bought our brand new car in December 2002, but it got ridiculous at our last service done by City Automotive Group. Our car is four years old and has 60,000 km on the clock. Because the car is four years old, that put it on schedule for its 100,000 km major service, even though it had only done 60,000 km ofmore »

Late night visitor

I had a 1am visitor last night — about 1.7 metres, slim, curvy … mmmm. My wife was not impressed. I think that she should be more liberal and open minded.
