Prism Stylus P3 kite

My Premier Kites Speed Foil has got me hooked on parafoils. It is only small, but is fast and pulls. The other week I spotted a Prism Stylus P3 on eBay. I won the bidding at $90 including postage. Usually P3s are $195 in Australia, so I figured I got a pretty good deal. The kite is in excellent condition, but there were a couple of odd things which I have corrected. Firstly, one ofmore »

Kite collection pics

Thought I would post a couple of pics of my kite collection. These photos were taken about six months ago, before I bought my first parafoil. The first pic (clockwise starting top right): six foot delta; rainbow delta; small rainbow delta; two diamond kites from a bargain store; Rascal dual line stunt kite. The Rascal and rainbow delta fly the best out of these kites. The rainbow delta is a very reliable flyer. Imore »

Premier Kites Speed Foil Red Rainbow #64502

My wife’s mother rented us a place at the Gold Coast for the Labour Day long weekend. I turned up down there and the place was right on the beach! Problem was, I had left my quiver of kites at home. Bugger. First opportunity I scooted over to the local kite shop, Kamikaze Kites. Friendly folks they were. I was impressed at their range of kites overall. I already have several traditional stunt kitesmore »

Don’t buy a Subaru Forester

Subaru Foresters can be expensive to maintain. I knew that when we bought our brand new car in December 2002, but it got ridiculous at our last service done by City Automotive Group. Late night visitor

I had a 1am visitor last night — about 1.7 metres, slim, curvy … mmmm. My wife was not impressed. I think that she should be more liberal and open minded.

Telstra are bastards

Okay. This is a rant. Telstra are bastards. I have a long standing dislike of Telstra. In my experiecne they have an extremely aggressive corporate culture in the upper echelons, and a lazy culture in the lower echelons typified by their ‘1980’s government worker’ stereotype, even though they are no longer a government entity. Today’s outburst comes from my most recent brush with the bastards from Telstra. All my telecommunications accounts — mobile, more »

Yamaha F310P acoustic guitar review

I originally bought a Yamaha FG720S acoustic guitar to learn on. They are about $500 in Australia, but I bought mine on special for about $450 from Allans Music in Queen Street Mall in Brisbane. I got the FG720S home and found that I was not using it. I have a three-year-old daughter, and unfortunately I had to store the guitar out of her reach. This meant that it was not easy tomore »
